In 2016, BCBSIL discontinued all metallic ACA level health plans in the large PPO Network and smaller Choice Network and created the Blue Choice Preferred PPO Network. The Blue Choice Preferred PPO Network will be similar to the Choice network but has been expanded statewide and includes additional hospitals and doctors.
Key Hospitals not accepting the Blue Choice Preferred PPO Plans in 2023:

Because of network limitations, the Blue Choice Preferred PPO plans are not appropriate for all Illinois residents. These products are basically for residents of Illinois metropolitan areas, including Chicago, Rockford and Springfield. To find out if your physician or hospital is in the Blue Choice Preferred network, use the Provider Finder and call your provider’s office.
